Jamie Davis
How long have you been practicing Bikram Yoga? I’ve been practicing Bikram for about 3 years.
When/Where did you graduate from Bikram Yoga teacher training? Palm Desert, California in the Spring 2009
Why did you decide to become a teacher? I had Scoliosis, degenerative C-5/C-6 disc, tilted hip, one leg longer than the other, Sciatica, migraines, TMJ, shooting pain down my arms and fingers. I had cortisone injections in my spine, physical therapy, traction…and not the natural human kind, surgery, it was like a full time job keeping up with my doctor’s appointments…and then I found yoga. It changed my life so profoundly that I knew I need to share this.
What is your favorite thing about teaching? My favorite thing about teaching is hearing all the stories from students about how the yoga is changing their life, hearing about how they touched their toes for the first time in their life, their break-through classes, hearing about how they see the yoga working in all areas of their life, not just their bodies. I love it.
What is your favorite quote? I have so many, but let me narrow it down to 2.
“People talk too much. Just grab a broom and sweep someone’s kitchen; that says enough.”~Mother Teresa
“What’s the good in having if you don’t know how to use it?”~Bikram Choudhury
Is there anything else? Just infinity…that’s all. ?
