Student of the Month Archive

May 2012

"I've learned so much about myself and the smaller things in life that I never took the time to acknowledge before.   I feel stronger and healthier because I've been able to apply the principles of what I do in the yoga room to my life."

April 2012
"Since I’ve been practicing consistently, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and started to really pay attention to what I’m doing to my body.  I’m much more mindful about what I eat, drink and think and am more in touch with my emotional well-being.  I’m physically stronger, mentally sharper and more optimistic about life."

March 2012

"After the first 5 months of practicing, I lost 15 pounds. I didn’t think I had 15 pounds to lose, but according to the scale, I was 15 pounds lighter. I lost inches in my waist and gained muscle definition in my arms and legs. Currently, my back and spine feel stronger. My entire body feels more flexible than ever. Most importantly, my knee & ankle injuries are healed."

February 2012
"I don’t hurt like I use to.  My body is beginning to heal itself (or as much as universe will allow).  I know it will take more time to heal the many old injuries I have, but I feel so much better.  My cholesterol level has dropped 21+ points since I stared practicing."

January 2012
"I can do things I never in my life thought to do.  When I put my head on my knees for the first time doing rabbit, I wanted to scream victory!"

December 2011

"My range of motion has improved immensely.  The chiropractor that I have seen for the last 10 years has remarked on the changes in my flexibility and even jokes with me that I don’t need her anymore."

November 2011

"Today, we’re stronger, more flexible, have more energy and we’re more confident. We’ve learned how to sweat and my skin is no longer dry. I can run up the stairs and look forward to walking the dog. Our family and friends tell us we look younger and move younger. We sure feel better!"

October 2011

"I started in April and Bikram Yoga has been a total lifestyle change for me; it’s like balance in my life.  Not only have I dropped 36 pounds, I am getting more flexible—before I could not even touch my toes."

September 2011

"It’s really amazing how you notice one thing after another change and how your troubles slowly disappear. I’ve noticed my neck is closer to proper alignment, shoulders have rolled back, my upper torso has lengthened, all muscles are toning and showing definition, I can see the muscles in my stomach again, and the back pain is long gone."

August 2011
"For those of you who have not completed a 60-day challenge, you owe it to yourself to find the time and dedication to take the challenge.  It's not easy...after all, it's 5,400 minutes of Bikram.  However, the pride and sense of accomplishment you feel each day you put up a star will carry you through the good days and the bad.  Go for it!."

Why 105 degrees?

Yoga changes the construction of the body from the inside out, from bones to skin and from fingertips to toes. So before you change it, you have to heat it up to soften it, because a warm body is a flexible body. The combination of yoga and heat will leave you looking and feeling nothing short of amazing.
